Inspiration
People suffering from Parkinson's often feel alienated, losing vital connections to friends and family. Finding it difficult to proceed with life as usual takes a huge toll on the physical and mental wellbeing of our most vulnerable members of society. Standardized testing varies tremendously from application to application, contradicting the original goal of monitoring and clear evaluation of Parkinson Tremors. Furthermore, these apps do not provide any motivation or path to consistent daily tests.
What it does
As a result, we offer Cogli - an innovative way for Parkinson patients to connect with those around them, while maintaining a clear goal of standardized and consistent hand-tremor testing. Cogli addresses this issue by implementing standardized testing using gyroscope and accelerometer data in combination with a community led Bingo game to encourage daily testing.
These daily tests provide a data archive between doctor visits.
How we built it
Through rapid prototyping and constant reevaluation we created a web app for anyone to use - including doctors and patients alike
Challenges we ran into
Creating accessible and easily usable software while ensuring that our users needs were met was challenging. To combat this we created many mockups and prototypes to guarantee our users are satisfied.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our team was inspired by the difficulty many Parkinson’s patients suffer through daily. After consulting nurses, doctors, and close family of Parkinson patients we decided that Cogli addresses all concerns while providing more powerful and innovative features not seen before.
What we learned
We learned the many difficulties that Parkinson's patients go through. WE offer a new an innovative way for the most vulnerable
What's next for Cogli
Cogli will proceed operations and become available for anyone to use. Cogli will be used by doctors and PD patients alike - providing a new path for Parkinson patients.
