Inspiration

Mental health is a very important aspect of life, but many people do not address it, especially if they have mental health issues. This inspired us to create a user-friendly website where people can keep track of their mental health well-being as well as receive help when they need it. Moreover, people can join, to be a part of the therapist or developers team. This helps to create new career opportunities as well.

What it does

This website consists of numerous features that enable users to track their mental health. The user can create an account or login into their existing account. Then, they can log their feelings into the calendar, on a daily basis. If the user is feeling down or wants help, they can meet with a therapist or book an appointment for the future. Additionally, users can browse the professionals and see the services they provide. Moreover, professionals can also offer their therapy/counseling or developer services, via this website. RainCoffee contains 4 main tabs: Home, About, Contact Us, and Sign Up, which will ease user access. This website has a unique name, RainCoffee, because it sounds similar to a Spotify radio station that is relevant to therapist web apps.

How we built it

We built is using Figma(design), HTML/CSS(front-end) and Flask & Python(back-end)

Challenges we ran into

We ran into a couple of challenges while creating this website. One of our team members’ coding was inaccessible on Replit, so we were unable to view or edit it. Therefore, we had to work from a downloaded copy. Secondly, we needed to find a way to store the data that the user inputs, such as how they feel/their emotions, on a daily basis. We also had some difficulty in styling the website’s content in a certain manner, in order to make it intuitive and user-friendly.

Accomplishments that we’re proud of

We were able to make a fully functional website, within the given time frame. We are proud that we were able to work together as a team to accomplish this goal together. Above all, we were able to make something that will help the community and we had a lot of fun doing it.

What we learned

We learned how to work together as a team, despite some of the setbacks we faced. We also learned how to manage our time wisely as well as effective communication.

What’s next

We could add additional attributes to this website, such as having an emergency helpline, adding an on-call therapist feature, and track upcoming appointments.
