Inspiration
The inspiration behind this project came from a desire to create a digital identity for a local coffee shop — a place that offers not just coffee, but an experience. In today’s digital-first world, having an online presence is essential. I wanted to build a platform that reflects the café’s warmth, menu variety, and unique ambiance while making it easier for customers to engage and explore the brand.
What it does
The Coffee Shop website is a static, fully responsive multi-page site that showcases the coffee shop’s offerings. It includes:
A beautifully designed homepage
Menu section with coffee and snack items
Gallery of shop photos
Contact form with embedded map
Interactive elements like hover effects and smooth scrolling
The goal is to give users a realistic and inviting preview of the café experience.
How we built it
The entire project was developed using:
HTML for content structure
CSS for layout, styling, animations, and responsiveness
JavaScript for interactive features like form validation, image sliders, and menu toggling
We used media queries to ensure the website looks good on all screen sizes and added CSS transitions for a smooth user experience.
Challenges we ran into
Making the layout fully responsive on mobile, tablet, and desktop
Creating a visually appealing color palette that reflects a cozy café vibe
Debugging minor layout issues due to overlapping content on small screens
Ensuring cross-browser consistency
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Completed a fully responsive, cleanly coded, and visually appealing website using only HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Successfully implemented multiple interactive UI features without using any libraries
Achieved a consistent design and user-friendly interface across devices
What we learned
Improved my frontend skills and deepened my understanding of responsive web design
Learned how to debug cross-browser issues effectively
Practiced organizing code structure for better readability and maintainability
Understood how to design for real users, not just for code correctness
