Inspiration

None of us knew anything about APIs. All we have were some entry level programming skills. We know we are definitely not on part with the other hackers. But we worked really hard, went to many workshops, and dived deep into Stack Overflow and java.docs and more. And finally we understand what APIs are and how to work with them. So here is a little something we created to try to make you daily life quality higher.

What it does

This java program takes in your choice of city and then provide you with some weather information and suggestions(GoPicnicCoe and StarGazing, all are explained in the program) that changes with the current weather.

How I built it

With the help from AccuWeather, we got the information we needed to calculate the finial output from the AccuWeather API in java. Then we used Javafx to create the user interface for the ease of use.

Challenges I ran into

The biggest challenge we faced is what is and how to use APIs with java. We spent a whole night to figure this out but it finally worked out.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We learned what is and how to use one of the most important thing for coding - APIs! We created out first program that actually do something really useful outside of class! We completed out first hackthon! No matter the program we made is small or big.
