Problem we are addressing: Lack of females in the STEM field.
Our solution: To expose technology and coding to girls at a young age. Our thinking is that girls are interested in so many subjects from a young age, but often coding is not one of them. We want to show them that they might really enjoy coding by pointing out its relevance to their other interests.
More info: Our mission is to give exposure to all students in the STEM fields. This app will allow children of all ages get introduced to coding and gain confidence, so they will not be as intimidated. Our goal is to open many possibilities for young intelligent minds, especially girls. According to Forbes in 2011, only 1 out of 10 people are women. Additionally, women have seen no employment growth in STEM jobs since 2000. Our main purpose is to reduce this gender gap, and to allow women to fill in the several empty spaces in the science field.
