Inspiration
We initially had a much more ambitious project, where creating an HTML website to host the project was just the first step (that we also had to learn from scratch). Once we realized that our initial project idea may have been a little too ambitious, we switched gears, and decided to use our project to teach other people everything we learned while trying to create our Technica 2023 hack!
What it does
This website offers some general instruction and practice for using HTML/JavaScript/CSS. It is modeled slightly after the codingbat website (which we all greatly used and appreciated while learning Java/Python).
How we built it
The website is build in HTML/JavaScript/CSS on GitHub.
Challenges we ran into
Our initial project idea was a little too complex, so we had to redirect our project. We also struggled a little bit with using embedded online compilers.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Learning to embed items and, in general, learning HTML!
What we learned
We learned the basics of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. Much of what we learned is included in the lessons on the website.
What's next for Codezilla
We can continue to expand the lessons we offer to showcase other features of HTML/JavaScript/CSS! We can also go back and create a slightly nicer user interface and possible a way to create accounts for the site to save progress.
