Inspiration

  • Entry Level jobs that require 5-7 years of experience, we, as a freshly graduate students could not seem to even get a fair shot to pass the resume screening rounds without referrals. A loop of 'must getting a job to get experience -> must have experiences to get a job" further inspires us to assist students that share the same situation.

What it does

  • Our website aims to offer students a chance to participate in companies' projects through their professors. This allows students to actually get more hands on experience to put in their resume.

How we built it

  • We use Next.js with MongoDB, and deploy our website on Vercel.

Challenges we ran into

  • Since we are still learning full stack, a lot of connection between frontend and backend were big roadblocks, as well as the difficulty of using some of the front end open source library.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • We manage to build a simple and minimalist website that primary serve our ultimate goal: establish the connection between students - professors - company through companies' projects.

What we learned

  • We learnt how to deploy a simple full stack web application with NextJS and MongoDB.

What's next for Codev

  • We will refine the existing code to ensure no bugs with the current version. Then we will try to optimize the load time of the website. Finally we can add more features to be more user-friendly.
