About Our Project
Welcome to our project! We're Dylan Davis and Riley Halcomb, two passionate cybersecurity students attending UTSA.
Inspiration
Our journey began with one simple idea: create a platform where we can show off our tools we have developed and hopefully let people use this as a resource. With thousands of cybersecurity tools out there we decided one of the best ways to understand them is by making them ourselves.
The Database
To bring our vision to reality, Riley took charge of building out our own website and database from scratch. He was able to create a user-friendly platform where we can highlight our work.
The Tools
Meanwhile, Dylan dived into the cybersecurity tools and techniques that are used in the field. He researched and created tools from scratch to potentially help students in the future trying to get into the field.
Challenges We Ran Into
Riley ran into a lot of issues creating the website from scratch, trying to learn three new languages, (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is very challenging, but with commitment and research he was able to craft a perfect website.
Dylan ran into issues with time, having to research on different cybersecurity tools and how they were made took a huge chunk of time, as well as having to develop them from scratch.
Mission Statement
At the heart of the project is a shared passion for learning and collaboration, We believe by sharing our knowledge we can hope to help students out trying to get into this field, as others have done for us. The field of Cybersecurity is endless and there is always something new to learn.
