Inspiration

• Our passion for coding
• Skills shortage in the coding industry and how important coding is
• People give up coding easily due to its difficulties so we want to make it a fun way to learn programming

What it does

• Allows users to play programming quizzes and gain points accordingly with a display of leaderboard for the rankings

How we built it

• Frontend: React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
• Backend: MERN stack (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js)
• Deployment: Heroku

Challenges we ran into

• Adding the count down timer
• Had difficulty getting the site deployed properly

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Implemented the core features of TechED within limited amount of time
• UI design from a user’s journey perspective
• Well team collaboration from different time zones (PDT, EST, BST)

What we learned

• Figma for UI design
• CSS styling
• React router
• How to work in the backend
• Connect backend data with frontend(fetch API)

What's next for TechED

• More programming quizzes with different languages
• Gives user the option to start quizzes with an Easy/Medium/Difficult level
• Recommendations from the user to add questions for the quizzes
• Achievements after a certain number of points
