Inspiration
Codemy is an engineering learning platform built around three core missions: accessibility, learning quality, and practical skills. It was inspired by how frustrating and limiting it can be to find the right place to learn coding, one that matches a student’s interests and experience level, while facing expensive kits, costly programs, and rigid curricula, even as engineering continues to grow faster than most other fields and become increasingly competitive.
What it does
Codemy was created to give the next generation a more equitable opportunity to enter this space through an approach that is affordable, engaging, and genuinely effective. Instead of passive tutorials, Codemy uses a reactive learning model: students learn by building real projects step-by-step, receiving immediate feedback, guidance, and checkpoints as they write code, make design decisions, and troubleshoot mistakes with a live AI agent. This removes the need for expensive tutors or instructors just to begin coding or complete a first engineering project.
With learner-focused editor copilots (designed to teach, not replace thinking), AI-driven performance analysis that provides targeted feedback on individual weaknesses, and a wide range of projects across multiple skill levels, Codemy aims to fit naturally into students’ desktops and classrooms as a practical tool for long-term growth. We often assume AI weakens coding ability, but Codemy is built around the opposite question: how can AI be used to strengthen how students learn to think, build, and solve problems?
