Inspiration

The tech industry's gender gap is a pressing issue that inspired us to create CodeHer. Did you know that women hold only 25% of computing jobs, despite making up 47% of the total workforce? (BLS, 2020) The underrepresentation of women of color is even more stark, with only 4% of computing jobs held by this group (NCWIT, 2020). Furthermore, research shows that 74% of girls express interest in STEM fields, yet only 0.4% choose to pursue computer science (Girls Who Code, 2020). These statistics highlight the need for a platform that supports and empowers women to pursue careers in coding. CodeHer aims to address this imbalance by providing a comprehensive and inclusive platform that fosters a love of coding and helps women achieve their full potential in the tech industry.

What it does

CodeHer is an innovative coding platform designed specifically for women. Our platform features a multilingual AI-powered Code Coach, a comprehensive resource hub in Code Library, and a community-driven showcase of talented coders in Code Stars. CodeHer provides a supportive environment for women to learn, grow, and connect with others in the tech industry.

How was CodeHer built?

CodeHer leveraged several technologies like AI and machine learning to develop our Code Coach. It also was coded using HTML, CSS, and Javascript.

What's next for CodeHer

Our vision for CodeHer is to create a global community of women in tech who support and uplift each other. We plan to expand our platform to include more features that leverage AI. We aim to partner with industry leaders and organizations to provide more opportunities for women to break into the tech industry and achieve their full potential.
