Inspiration

Most tooling and agents in the ecosystem are primarily closed source. The motivation was to create something that was open source, and also powerful enough for the global community.

What it does

CodeforgeAI is a general purpose AI developer agent that assists with things like tooling, cli assistance, code editing, and all kind of operations across codebases and frameworks.

How we built it

We had to mentally decouple the functioning of github copilot, and try to reverse things functionally. At the end of the day, we have something that is more or less functional.

Challenges we ran into

building an open source project could be a hassle with trying to find contributors, funding, etc.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Currently, codeforge is one of the first AI agents (though not very popular) aside github copilot and cursor, to tightly integrate into existing developer ecosystems

You can, indeed, just do things.

What's next for codeforgeai

Improvement, tooling, integrations. we are collaborating with other startups, web3 layers to take things further off the ground.
