Inspiration
We wanted to make coding practice more fun by combining LeetCode-style challenges with an interactive adventure game.
What it does
CODE: ADRIFT is a single-player coding adventure where players are trapped on a damaged ship. They must solve Python coding challenges to unlock rooms, restore systems, and reach the control room to escape.
How we built it
We used Python and Django for the backend and HTML, CSS, and TypeScript for the frontend. We created a ship-themed interface with interactive rooms and coding challenges.
Challenges we ran into
Our biggest challenges were connecting coding problems to the storyline, evaluating player solutions, and making the gameplay feel smooth and immersive.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of creating a working coding adventure that turns traditional programming problems into an engaging, story-driven experience.
What we learned
We improved our skills in web development, Python, problem-solving, and designing interactive experiences while working under hackathon time constraints.
What's next for CODE ADRIFT
We plan to add more adventures, coding challenges, difficulty levels, progress tracking, and potentially multiplayer gameplay.
