Inspiration

The theory behind our invention is building and fostering an inclusive community, we have had success with this in our school hosting a discord server and making a club for all computer science majors, with this in mind we want to provide this service to the world.

What it does

CodeCupid allows developers to enter their interest and be matched with a partner who shares their interests. CodeCupid will allow users to actively search out people instead of just passively waiting for someone to find them or their projects.

How we built it

We used Flask and SQLAlchemy for the backend, and HTML and CSS on the frontend.

Challenges we ran into

The strict deadline put our time management skills to the test. Conflicting schedules made it hard for everyone to collaborate and put in the work

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This is our first hackathon and honestly we are super proud that we made it to the finish line. Our team comes from a primarily backend environment, and had to learn frontend development quickly.

What we learned

We learned how to set up IDEs for a full stack project and using Git to collaborate.

What's next for CodeCupid

We want to flesh out the app more and make it more applicable to a variety of situations, right now the matching algorithm works off of interests alone but ideally will include skills and experience.
