Inspiration
CodeCoach AI was inspired by beginners who get stuck on coding platforms like HackerRank. Many learners can find final answers online, but they often do not understand why the solution works. I wanted to build a tool that teaches the thinking process step by step.
What it does
CodeCoach AI helps users understand programming and database problems. A user can paste a SQL task, Java regex challenge, or error message, choose a topic, and get a beginner-friendly explanation with key concepts, step-by-step hints, a hidden final solution, practice questions, flashcards, and learning history.
How I built it
I built the app with MeDo. MeDo generated the full-stack application from prompts, including the interface, navigation, learning history, flashcards, progress tracking, quick examples, and a polished responsive design.
Challenges
The main challenge was turning a simple answer helper into a real learning tool. I improved the app so it does not only show solutions, but also gives hints, flashcards, practice questions, and progress tracking.
Accomplishments
I am proud that CodeCoach AI became a complete learning app with multiple pages, saved history, flashcards, progress counters, dark mode, and quick examples for SQL, Java Regex, and debugging.
What I learned
I learned how to use MeDo to turn an idea into a working app quickly. I also learned how important it is to design learning tools that guide users instead of just giving them answers.
What's next
Next, I would add real AI model integration, user accounts, more programming languages, code execution, difficulty levels, and spaced repetition for flashcards.
