CODE VERSE Project Submission Remake

Inspiration The official CODE VERSE hackathon relies solely on Devpost for project submissions, which can feel impersonal and less engaging for participants. I wanted to create a dedicated, user-friendly submission portal to streamline the process and enhance the participant experience.

What It Does The CODE VERSE Project Submission Remake is a fully functional website that allows participants to: View hackathon details, rules, and deadlines in one place. Submit their projects directly through the portal. Experience a more engaging and intuitive interface compared to the Devpost page.

How We Built It Frontend: Built with React.js and Next.js for a responsive and dynamic user interface. Backend: Integrated Firebase for handling form submissions and storing project details. Design: Focused on clean, intuitive UI/UX with accessibility in mind, ensuring the platform is easy to navigate for all users. Deployment: Hosted on Vercel for fast, reliable, and scalable performance.

Challenges We Ran Into Creating a submission system from scratch without access to the official hackathon backend. Ensuring the platform was intuitive and accessible for users of all skill levels. Balancing functionality with a tight deadline (24-hour hackathon constraint).

Accomplishments That We're Proud Of Successfully building a fully functional submission portal in a short timeframe. Creating a visually appealing and user-friendly design that enhances the participant experience. Solving a real problem by providing a dedicated platform for submissions.

What We Learned How to design and implement a project submission system from scratch. The importance of user experience in hackathon platforms. Time management and prioritization during a 24-hour hackathon.

What's Next for CODE VERSE Project Submission Remake Integrate user authentication to allow participants to edit their submissions.
