Inspiration

I and my team were attending our regular college lectures. We saw that some girls from our class were facing issues with the sanitary napkin was it was not available on the college premises. So we thought of building an application by which the girls can contact several volunteers who are enrolled in the application can help them out with sanitary napkin in an emergency situation.

What it does

In our application, we have two sides such as customers (girls/women) on the college premises. Now if any girl has an emergency situation and she needs a sanitary napkin then she will directly call the volunteers from the volunteer list and make payment once she gets the sanitary napkin. The Admin of the app can view all the volunteer's list as well as add volunteer to the app. Admin can also view all the payments made till now.

How we built it

We have built a prototype using Proto.io. In the future, we will be extending it and building the whole application using java and for the backend, we will be using Firebase as a database.

Challenges we ran into

Doing a survey of this problem was the biggest challenge we ran into, as it was difficult for us to question the women/girls on the college premises.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We as a team are proud of figuring out the important problem which women/girls face on our college premises.

What we learned

We have learned a lot while figuring out the problem and giving a solution to it. We also have learned teamwork which helped us a lot.

What's next for Code Red

In the future, we will be building the whole application and adding features that will be requested by the women/girls on the college premises. This application not only will be useful on the college premises but also in Movie Theater and other public places.
