Code Orange is concerned with ensuring social justice by addressing health & other disparities for individuals living in South Asia, with a particular emphasis on Pakistan. The group engages Harvard students and the larger community through an interface consisting of (1) programming, (2) fundraising initiatives, and (3) development strategies. The principle aim of Code Orange is to reach out to the impoverished children in the largest slum within all of Asia by supporting them through means of health seminars and donations. In order to achieve these goals, Code Orange seeks to send aid in physical goods as well as service the people by means of student innovation and curricula. We see a need for such a group as it is currently very difficult for high school & college students to make a visible change in the developing world, especially in this region of Pakistan. To address this difficulty, Code Orange seeks to raise awareness and foster understanding of the region while providing undergraduates with an opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of millions.

During the past forty-eight hours, our team has developed relationships with many of the participants and organizers of Pakathon, thereby forming a board of advisors. These individuals have pledged to aid in curricula development that is culturally sensitive yet academically comprehensive. Furthermore, we have launched our official website which provides a platform for program delivery. Finally, we have solidified our vision with feedback from various entities in order to foster our elementary relationships with USAID, the Pakistani embassy, APPNA, and countless other organizations.

Above all, our primary objective has been ensuring fiscal responsibility and financial stability. As such, we have further developed our business model as one of domestic and grassroots engagements. We hope to appeal to high school and college aged students throughout the country as Code Orange ambassadors. Utilizing our fundraising toolkit, these individuals would raise awareness in their respective cities while accumulating funds that would then be directed through our national headquarters. After Pakathon, we hope to secure 501(c)3 status in order to formalize our stance as a non-profit group.

We have developed a website that will be the face of our organization. We will host our curriculum and ask for donations as well as raise funds through this page.
