Inspiration
Code Girls was inspired by the growing interest in STEM. Many girls and marginalized individuals enter the STEM world through technology. Thus, there is a need to provide beginner-friendly and inclusive platforms and forums for these individuals to grow through.
What it does
Code Girls is a website and an online forum for communication. It provides lessons and information to register for as well as a forum to talk and ask on.
How we built it
It was built using frontend coding languages such as HTML, CSS and Javascript.
Challenges we ran into
Challenged by the creation of a slideshow on the homepage, as this was a new mechanism that required more in-depth learning of the frontend languages.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud of creating this website as it tested my knowledge of the programming languages as well as provided and opportunity for learning.
What we learned
I learnt how to use form in HTML which will allow me in the future to create more complex comment sections registration forms.
What's next for Code Girls
Next up for Code Girls will be more elaborate graphics and discovering storage methods for all the queries asked on the website.
