As frightening headlines flash across our screens daily and crisis seems to unfold, it's often easy to forget what happens to people after these tragic events. Whether that be veterans of war or regular people, life can often seem to move on without anxiety. The long term consequences of suppressing the anxiety lead to worse conditions and symptoms, impacting health, life expectancy, and relationships as a result. This app was made for one of the most deadly side effects, panic attacks.
What it does
Code Blue is a Mental Health Platform, which includes an app and a calling system. Through building a simple APP, we aim to make it accessible for anyone in need. The main page of the app gives professional advice to use during a panic attack. This solution will bring a steady hand to people who are experiencing panic attacks at that moment. The calling page of the app gives the option for individuals to call their loved ones during that time.
How I built it
I built this app using swift and xcode. Using these 2 amazing programming languages and softwares, I programmed the app to meet needs that professional medical companies use during panic attacks. To add the call function to the app, I added an api that gives you an easy option to call people.
Challenges I ran into
Problems with the timing function in the app took up a huge chunk of my time but after doing some research on it I was able to find and solve the problem.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I am proud that I was able to make a full app that helps save the world in such a short amount of time. Being able to help contribute to the mental health community with this app was a huge accomplishment in itself.
What I learned
As I learned a lot more programming in Swift, I also started my path in much more advanced things related to coding. I increased my knowledge about hackathons, and now I have become much more confident.
