Inspiration
I built this after struggling with the same thing most beginners face. Watching great tutorials, understanding the idea, then freezing when it was time to code alone.
What it does
Code Along syncs video lessons with a live code editor and timed challenges so learners can practice instantly. It removes context switching and keeps people in flow while they learn.
How we built it
We combined a video player, in-browser code runner, and AI that generates notes and small exercises from lessons. Teachers can tweak everything before publishing, and students get instant feedback while coding.
Challenges we ran into
Syncing videos with the right coding moments was tricky. Building a fast, safe code execution environment and keeping the UI distraction-free took serious iteration.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Creating a smooth side-by-side learning experience that feels natural. Turning passive watching into something measurable and hands-on.
What we learned
People learn faster when friction disappears. Small, well-timed challenges matter more than long problem sets later.
What's next for Code Along
Live classes, voice-guided lessons, and smarter personalization. We also want deeper analytics for teachers and support for more languages and learning paths.
