Inspiration

I born with a congenital cardiopathy that basically put me trough a life with special needs all the time, when I was one (1) year old I had to pass trough a open heart surgery and after surviving it the doctors told my mom that I would have to take aspirins all my life.

I lived a "normal" life after that, with the impediments that a condition like mine carries, but when I became seventeen (17) years old I suffered a transitional ACV, thanks to God it didn't have any sequels but that was a sign that I needed another surgery, so, i passed trough another open heart operation in order to avoid future ACVs and health issues, after this surgery the doctor prescribed me permanent anticoagulants ad scheduled INR blood tests.

With that in mind I looked for any app that could track my INR record but the few that do existed were non functional or lacked necessary functions, so, I did what every other builder would do, developed my own app in order to help me, and, any other person that had to pass through a similar experience take control of there life and don't worry again about their dose intakes and future appointments.

What it does

A PILL REMINDER THAT KNOWS YOUR DOSE

Warfarin is not one pill a day. The amount can change from weekday to weekday, and it can change the moment your doctor calls. Coagly's pill reminder carries the exact amount you are meant to take today — and rewrites itself as soon as you update your prescription. A medication reminder that announces last week's dose is worse than no reminder at all.

TRACK WHAT MATTERS

  • Log every INR result and see your trend at a glance, in range or out
  • Weekly dose schedules per medication, with support for multiple anticoagulants at once
  • Smart reminders that always announce the correct, current dose
  • Appointment reminders for your next blood draw
  • Time-in-therapeutic-range (TTR) and adherence insights so you and your doctor can see how stable you've really been
  • Home screen widgets for today's dose, your next test, and your last five weeks of adherence
  • Full history — calendar, list, and CSV export — reaching back to your very first entry, for everyone, not just Pro

IMPORT YOUR HISTORY

Already tracking in another app? Bring your existing INR and dose history in from CSV, so you're not starting from zero.

BUILT FOR CLARITY

Every reading is labeled clearly, in plain language, with color plus text and icons — never color alone — so status is never ambiguous. Nothing is ever guessed: if a value wasn't recorded, Coagly says so instead of showing a misleading number.

How I built it

I built it using React Native and Claude Code in order to launch it for iOS and Android, with all the experience that I earned due to my daily livings and with help of professional cardiologist in order to check the sources and needed functionalities; for the app design and graphic resources I manually used Pixelmator Pro.

Accomplishments that I am proud of

The greatest accomplishment that I am proud of is the functionality of the app itself, it is really easy to use and intuitive, so every kid or adult that needs to track his INR can do it without any inconvenience. I am joyful to be able to help a lot of people around the globe.

What I learned

I learned more about app accessibility, UI and UX because the app needed to be comfortable for daily use and not to complicated for the old age users, also, thanks to the development of Coagly I learnt in more extensive way about medical apps guidelines and what possible project could be done in the future to target that category.

What's next for Coagly: Warfarin & INR Tracker

I want to keep updating the app to add new health features related to cardiovascular diseases, my goal is to improve and help the greatest quantity of people possible around the entire world.
