Inspiration
Many people struggle to stay consistent with learning and self-improvement because they lack clear guidance and feedback. We wanted to build something that feels like a personal coach—always available, adaptive, and easy to use. That idea led us to Coachify, an AI-powered coaching assistant built with Gemini.
What it does
Coachify acts as a smart coach that helps users:
- Set clear goals
- Get personalized guidance and suggestions
- Ask questions and receive structured, actionable feedback
- Stay motivated through conversational interaction
The focus is on simplicity and usefulness rather than overwhelming the user.
How we built it
We built Coachify around Gemini as the core intelligence. The system takes user input, sends it to Gemini for reasoning and response generation, and then presents the result in a clean, user-friendly interface. The backend handles prompt structuring and response formatting, while the frontend focuses on clarity and ease of interaction.
Challenges we ran into
- Designing prompts that consistently produce helpful and concise coaching responses
- Keeping responses relevant without overloading the user with information
- Balancing flexibility (open-ended questions) with structured guidance
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Successfully integrating Gemini into a real, usable product
- Creating a smooth conversational flow that feels natural

What we learned
- Prompt engineering plays a huge role in response quality
- AI works best when paired with clear structure and constraints
- Building simple features well is more impactful than adding many complex ones
What's next for Coachify
- User profiles and long-term memory for better personalization

- More specialized coaching modes (study, fitness, career, etc.)
