Coachello

🧠 Inspiration

Coachello was inspired by the overwhelming anxiety and uncertainty many people face when navigating their careers - whether they’re students, mid-career switchers, or just stuck in a rut. I realized that most tools out there are impersonal, text-heavy, or too rigid. I wanted to build something that talks back - something voice-first, encouraging, and truly personalized.

A friend of mine had been struggling to find direction after graduation, and I kept thinking: What if there was a coach who could speak to her daily, offer ideas, check in on progress, and nudge her forward?

That’s how Coachello was born - a voice-powered AI coach that listens, speaks, and helps you grow.

🛠️ What I Learned

🧱 How I Built It

• Frontend: React (via Bolt), styled with TailwindCSS
  
• Voice Interaction: ElevenLabs for speech synthesis + Whisper for transcription
  
• Backend/Logic: Bolt-generated logic for path matching, daily check-ins, and sentiment analysis
  
• Premium Tier Simulation: RevenueCat (mocked payments to showcase UX)
  
• Hosting: Netlify with CI/CD
  
• Domain: Deployed to coachello.xyz (via Entri)

I used Bolt to scaffold the full project, layered in the voice AI, dynamic career path logic, and simulated premium upgrade flows. I also added voice-driven journaling and motivational prompts to enhance daily habit-building.

🚧 Challenges I Faced

• Voice UX tuning: Getting the right tone and pacing for the voice mentor to feel encouraging, not robotic
  
• Simulating monetization: Building a freemium flow that judges can experience without paying, while still conveying real business potential
  
• User personalization: Designing a system that feels tailored to your journey without overwhelming first-time users
  
• Deployment polish: Ensuring responsiveness and fast load times across mobile and desktop
