At nwHacks, we decided to take on a coding challenge which we have had limited exposure to: creating an iOS application coded in Objective-C to help people make more sustainable choices. What resulted was CO2go. CO2go tracks your travels, and logs the CO2 you have emitted during your commute. CO2go is smart enough to be able to tell when you're biking or walking, and when you are driving. Furthermore, with the data we pull from your car model, CO2go can accurately calculate how much CO2 you have produced.
The history button takes you to a list of your travel logs, each of which is available to view in more detail. This view shows you all of your expected statistics, such as your distance traveled, the time elapsed, the car you drove, and the rate of your CO2 emissions. Logging these travels helps you see a trend in your recent commutes, and keep you motivated to maintain a sustainable travel plan.
