Co-Aid

Inspiration

During this pandemic period , Everyone has stay updated about the severity of the cases in their surroundings. There are many applications, websites, which spring on users with loads of information which sometimes may leave the user overwhelmed. Hence we decided to make an application which showcases only the required amount of basic information that the user wants to see so that they are well aware of the situation they are in and take the necessary precautions.

What it does

Co-Aid is a basic GUI , which takes the user input for the country and returns the following attributes : Continent, Country, Population, Total number of cases, Active cases, Number of people who have Recovered and Basic precautionary measures that has to be incorporated in order to stay safe.

How we built it

We built it using python3 software and spyder text editor by importing tkinter and request libraries.

Challenges we ran into

Getting a free api source which had latest updates on Covid-19 cases

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We developed Team oriented personality and were able to function efficiently. We were successfully able to display precise information about The Covid-19.

What we learned

We learnt how an api functions. We learnt about different attributes used to crested an efficient GUI.

What's next for Co-Aid

To expand our pool of information so that the user can get more location specific updates Ex: To display the Covid cases in his/her city. The GUI will be developed into an app as a updated version. We will provide details about the vaccination campaigns. Co-Aid will not deviate from it's purpose of providing just what's required for a very simple user experience.
