Our group was inspired to design FitFound because we believe that fashion is a form of identity and self-expression, and everyone can have their own style to find! Going to a university as large and diverse as UBC, we've noticed just how many unique and creative styles are out there. We wanted to create an app that helps people find what they like, inspired by whatever they want!

FitFound’s main function is help everyone find their style. Users can upload pictures of all their clothing items into groups organized by item types, and FitFound will use object recognition to generate outfits from these items based on keywords provided by the user, and inspiration off the web. FitFound allows you to save outfits you like, and modify ones that you feel may need a bit more work. Our explore page also provides inspiration from other creators who have uploaded their content on FitFound, and allow users to explore fashion blogs and current trends.

We used the platform Figma to design all parts of our interface, and used SwiftUI to implement the designs into an iOS app.

Since this is our groups first time designing with Figma, there was a lot of learning to be done in the beginning. Getting used to navigating Figma was the first step for us, and familiarizing ourselves with the available tools took up a large chunk of time. Our group also has very limited coding experience, so learning to program with SwiftUI was essentially a very slow learn-as-you-go process.

Overall we are proud to say that we have completed our first hackathon and design project. We all came into this hackathon with almost no experience in coding and design, and aimed to focus on the learning process. We are proud that we were able to come together as a group to create a design that we truly believe could be implemented into a fun and useful app.

We mainly gained experience with using Figma as a designing tool, and learned how to collaborate with design elements. Over the course of the day we learned how to be more effective with splitting up group tasks, so that we are able to work efficiently individually while still maintaining the unity of the project.

Our next step is to refine the design and finish programming the app! Since this is our first hackathon and design project, there is still a lot of work to be done. Over the past 24 hours, we have refined, edited, and replaced countless elements of our design that overtime we felt could be done differently, and there is still much more that can be improved.
