Inspiration

I have always been interested in how people perform under pressure — why some individuals excel in critical moments while others struggle. This idea is often referred to as “clutch performance” in psychology. Recently, I explored research in this area and became curious about whether patterns in human behavior under stress could be analyzed using data. This project is my attempt to combine psychology and data science to better understand this phenomenon.

What it does

ClutchMind AI is a data-driven tool that analyzes how individuals perform under pressure. It explores the relationship between: stress levels performance outcomes decision-making behavior The goal is to identify patterns that explain when and why people perform at their best in high-pressure situations.

How we built it

I approached this project as a beginner research-style exploration: collected or simulated behavioral data (stress vs performance) analyzed patterns using basic data analysis techniques visualized results to better understand trends explored simple models to interpret the relationship between variables The focus was not only on building a tool, but also on understanding the process behind data-driven insights.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was the lack of real-world datasets specifically focused on “clutch performance.” I also faced difficulties in: defining measurable variables for psychological states interpreting data without oversimplifying complex human behavior balancing technical implementation with meaningful analysis

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Through this project, I learned: how to approach an open-ended research problem the basics of data analysis and interpretation the importance of existing academic literature how complex human behavior can be when translated into data

In the future, I would like to: collect real user data through surveys or experiments improve the model using more advanced machine learning explore deeper psychological theories behind performance under pressure
