Inspiration

We were extremely frustrated with a lack of access and extreme difficulty in circulating club and club event information, especially as leaders and officers of clubs ourselves. We had also heard from many of our peers that they shared our pain, even as students just trying to join. So, we decided to create our own way to reach people and spread club information in a much simpler and more intuitive way.

What it does

ClubHub allows students to easily access all the club and club event information they need, as well as simplifying the process for club leaders to expand and develop their club. Able to link to a university account, it's convenient for all of the university's body and it provides seamless access to student groups that may have struggled to find members or get more engagement before.

How we built it

We built this website using react-native and CSS. We also used codesandbox.io to work with our other members simultaneously.

Challenges we ran into

We struggled to figure out the design of our website, and it was constantly changing throughout our coding process. This means that we were unable to finish as much of the actual website as we wanted, and some pages had to suffer visually and structurally because of it.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're very proud that we were able to complete as much of it as we did. We think this tool offers a lot to student life and can greatly improve how people interact with events around their university.

What we learned

One important thing we learned is that when working with others, delegating work in an even way is vital for maintaining good group dynamics and a well-balanced workforce.

What's next for ClubHub

We plan on implementing the website in the future with Chapman University, so that we may put this work to practice and see how well it helps the student body.
