Inspiration

I wanted to do something fun, something that is location-based. Dating apps can be also controversial, so I thought it would be a cool project.

The other, and more deeper goal is to get more people into crypto. The global market size for pubs, bars and nightclubs is close to $30 billion - a very exiting segment to join with the crypto world.

The plan is to partner with large nightclub and pub operators to bring their venues to the app to engage more users. More traffic for them and more visibility for Clubber AI and Near.

What it does

It is a location based dating game!

Browse map of parties and attend them
Generate avatar and stake CLUB tokens
Start chatting with other attendees
Guess if you are chatting with a human or AI - get 1 CLUB token if you guess correctly, lose 1 if you guess incorrectly. But you have to be fast because if the other person guesses correct first, they get the token instead.
Can browse Near.Social profile of real people you had chats with

How we built it

Near Protocol API - airdrop CLUB tokens to new users, allow staking of tokens
Mubert (https://mubert.com/) - uses AI to generate a unique radio stream for each party
OpenAI - used to generate parties, attendees, party images, photos, chat with AI etc.
Used Microsoft Aspire .Net, Blazor and NodeJs to create the app.

Challenges we ran into

It was difficult to model AI to be as real-feeling as possible. To make it chat with slang, use smileys, take time to write answers, and otherwise be like a real person. This will be the core of the app and with advances in AI will only get better and better. Its already quite fun to chat with it.
Constantly fighting the Dall-e-3 content filter. Generating photos of sexy partygoers is not that straightforward :)

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Everything works smoothly end-to-end. Nothing faked or corners cut. Also learned new technologies I had not used before (Near wallet selector, Aspire, Mongo Atlas, Cursor)

Get more beta testers
Launch CLUB token (presale)
Partner with large club/nightclub/bar operators to get their content on the platform and get more visibility through them.
Organize hybrid parties with partners to get a massive amount of new users into crypto. Near named wallets ecosystem is a key for this.
