Inspiration

In a world dominated by centralized cloud providers, we wanted to build something truly secure, transparent, and decentralized. With growing concerns about data privacy, censorship, and vendor lock-in, we asked: "What if cloud storage worked like Web3 — owned by users, powered by the community?" That’s how Cloudra was born — a decentralized cloud storage platform that empowers users to store and share data without relying on central servers.

What it does

Cloudra allows users to:

📤 Upload, store, and access files using IPFS and Filecoin 🔐 Maintain full control over their data through encryption and smart contracts 🌐 Use a clean, modern web interface for seamless interaction 🔗 Authenticate and manage wallets with MetaMask 📁 View metadata, file history, and storage contracts transparently All powered by blockchain, smart contracts, and decentralized protocols — with no middleman.

How we built it

Our tech stack:

Frontend: React.js + Tailwind CSS (for clean UI/UX) Backend: Node.js + Express.js Blockchain: Solidity (Smart Contracts on Ethereum) Storage: IPFS for file distribution, Filecoin for persistent storage Wallet Integration: MetaMask + Web3.js Containerization & Deployment: Docker + Kubernetes (planned for scalability)

Each team member handled specific research & dev roles. We combined Web2 familiarity with Web3 innovation.

Challenges we ran into

🧩 Integrating IPFS and Filecoin in a smooth, user-friendly way 🔐 Encrypting files while maintaining decentralized access 🔄 Gas optimization for smart contracts 🧪 Testing decentralized features in a simulated environment 🌍 Making the UX simple enough for non-tech users
