Inspiration

In this era of the internet, e-commerce is growing by leaps and bounds keeping the growth of brickand- mortar businesses in the dust. In many cases, brick-and-mortar businesses are resorting to having a counterpart which is internet or e-commerce driven. But these interactions through home delivery and even normal shopping system are vulnerable during these COVID and Post COVID situations.

What it does

CloudCart is an e-commerce website that is capable of bringing a normal shopping system and the optimum solution to the challenges involved in making effective social distancing.

How we built it

The entire development process is primarily divided into two parts: the front-end development and the back end development. The back-end used here, ‘Node.js’ is made to calculate the time used by clientele for every single service they need and provides him a suitable time slot. This effectively decreases the congestion in public places and make the clientele to spend a minimum time outside. The front-end bestows a user-friendly interface that the merchant could sell all their products and services on a single webpage so that customers could feel it is an assemblage of different online shops.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge is with maintaining the time for buyer if he buys more products from different shops in same location. So I assumed it to give the slot time for 1 hour for a pre-production of app and arrange product time according to that he could only buy less than 1 hour.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

CloudCart could maintain the social distancing with effectively removing the crowd in public place and reducing the time of each buyer to stay in those places.

What we learned

This project enhanced my skills in full stack web developing using postman, nodejs, reactjs and express.

What's next for CloudCart

Providing direct messaging system with Seller. User and Seller Authentication . I would like to implement a rating option where users can rate the shop.
