CloudAid is way to leverage SMS to report health emergencies in under served and under reported rural communities. While smart phones have taken off even in the most poverty stricken countries, for the vast majority of people, SMS is still the best way to contact people in need.

With cloudAid, NGOs and Governments can set up SMS chat bots that local residents can ask for information and request aid.

For example a pregnant woman can send an SMS to a number she sees posted in town. When she connects she is asked a series of questions about her situation. This data is then instantly entered into salesforce as a case that a aid worker can use to assess her situation and send aid if available and/or necessary.

Aid workers on the ground can then use the SF1 app to quickly get a report of the general issues in a particular town, and send resources based on cluster data of common problems.

We see this as a amazing way to collect census data in areas that are hard to reach. We want to expand on cloudAid, by adding more robust dispatch functionality so we can act as a rural 911 system. We can even incentivized the community of residents to aid people in need my directly contacting people in the area who are vetted to act as temporary triage and ambulance workers.

Cloud aid is a 411/911 hybrid for rural communities in need. It can quickly collect vast amounts of self reported data, and has the added features of security and anonymity. SMS numbers act as unique keys, and residents scared of opening up to aid workers about there issues can feel safe by reporting there problems from home.
