Esports events are defined by energy, speed, and instant competition. Our goal was to create a game that fits perfectly into the event flow: fun to play while waiting in line, easy to understand without a tutorial, and competitive enough to draw a crowd.

What it does

Cloud9 x JetBrains Rush is a high velocity reflex challenge.

  • The Game: Players control the Cloud9 mascot or JetBrains' "Junie", flipping gravity to avoid procedurally generated obstacles. It's a test of pure reaction speed.
  • The Booth Experience: We designed a "Spectator Mode" with a separate Live Leaderboard screen (leaderboard-display.html). As fans play on the tablet/computer, their scores broadcast instantly to the big screen, updating rankings in real time.
  • Event Optimized: No menus, no loading screens—just "Press Start" and play. The game logic resets daily at midnight (San Francisco time), keeping the competition fresh for each day of the event.
