Cloud Nine Activists - Combating Islamophobia

We have created an app, Cloud Censor that censors words typed by user (islamophobic comments) and website that is educational + contains a mini game for users to learn about islamophobia.

Inspiration

We were inspired by the recent events of BLM that have been arising. These issues have been prevalent as well as Islamophobia in our world We've decided to take up the issue of islamophobia and solve this.

What it does

We created an app to censor out islamophobic comments in texts as well as a website that is informative and contains a game for people to play and learn more about islamophobia + how to combat

How we built it

App: built with Swift Website: built with HTML, CSS, and Javascript Game: built with Scratch And everything was built with lots of love <3

Challenges we ran into

At times, our code wouldn't run and we were under a time crunch, and also we would run into road blocks for ideas of what to do for our website and app. We also ran into problems with html formatting and at times we resulted to a mentor for some guidance

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to create a running app that infact is able to successfully censor out words, as well as a website and game! We are also super proud since Technica is our first hackathon

What we learned

We learned alot of new pieces of code in Technica as well as the hackathon experience. We had a lot of fun!

What's next for Cloud Nine Activists - Combating Islamophobia

Submitting the app to the App Store, cleaning up the website and making it less html, and make partnerships with companies!
