What's next for Cloud Manufacturing Scheduling System

The idea is the purpose behind a PhD research I'm conducting. It's based on employing artificial intelligence techniques for scheduling resources in cloud manufacturing platforms. CMfg is a service-oriented technology for automating the process of manufacturing through a pool of configurable virtualized resources with the minimum intervention of service providers.

Offering manufacturing resources for use overseas allows for cheaper manufacturing, reduces prices, reduced transport and shipping, specially in turbulent times like these days. Instead of putting shipping activities on hold, manufacturers can place job batches remotely at distribution locations, by utilizing manufacturing resources shared on the Cloud Manufacturing platform.

CMfg is a manufacturing paradigm over networks that connects distributed resources and capabilities, by using the new generation of information technologies such as big data, IoT, cloud computing, and the Internet.
