This is how you see your completed outfit at the end!
Inspiration: Past fashion trends have recently been coming back into style. It can be hard for some to throw an outfit together, so we wanted to help design a website that could help!
What it does: Closet Through Time helps people design your own retro outfit in seconds! Pick one of each category of clothes to create an ensemble. Don't forget to add accessories to tie the whole outfit together!
How we built it: We researched different retro clothes (shirts, pants, shoes, accessories etc.) and cut each object out in Adobe Photoshop. We made an HTML file in visual studio code to create the website from scratch. We created a form in that file to select different items. We also made a Javascript file to add functionality to our button and pop-up modal. Finally, we made a CSS file to add more decoration to our website.
Challenges we ran into: Creating the modal was difficult. Now it pops up, but the images on it are set and cannot be changed when the user changes the outfit. Highlighting the images was also hard, and now the images stay highlighted unless the user refreshes the page.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: The form took a long time so we are proud of how it turned out. We also love the way our website looks.
What we learned: As beginners and our first Hack-A-Thon (for 2 of us), we all learned a lot of various information within the Computer Science field. More specifically, we learned photoshop, the basics of code through Java, and some of us learned more advanced Java, Javascript, and HTML.
What's next for Closet Through Time: We want to fix the highlighting issue and get the correct images to show up on the modal. We also want to add more clothing options!
