⚡ ClipIQ — Find Your Best 30 Seconds, Mathematically.

🎬 A privacy-first content intelligence engine that discovers, ranks, previews, and extracts high-potential moments from long-form video — directly in your browser.

💡 Inspiration

Creators can spend hours scrubbing through podcasts, interviews, lectures, and videos just to find a few seconds worth publishing.

We built ClipIQ to eliminate that search. Our goal was simple: turn long-form footage into ranked short-form opportunities without API keys, expensive cloud AI, or black-box recommendations.

🚀 What it does

Upload a video and ClipIQ analyzes its audio signals to identify high-energy moments with strong short-form potential.

✨ Core Features

  • 🎥 Upload real long-form video
  • ⚡ Detect audio energy surges
  • 📈 Identify transient/excitement spikes
  • 🧠 Calculate explainable highlight scores
  • 🏆 Rank the strongest moments automatically
  • ⏱️ Provide exact source timestamps
  • ▶️ Preview recommended segments
  • ✂️ Generate clips from the original footage
  • 📥 Download generated clips
  • 🔐 Process media locally in the browser
  • 🔑 Zero API keys required

🛠️ How we built it

ClipIQ uses: React + TypeScript + Vite + Web Audio API + AudioContext + MediaRecorder + HTML5 Video APIs The pipeline works like this: Upload → Decode Audio → Analyze Signals → Detect Spikes → Score → Rank → Preview → Extract → Download Audio is divided into time windows and analyzed using RMS energy and transient signal changes. These signals are normalized into an explainable composite highlight score. Strong, non-overlapping moments are then surfaced through ClipIQ's visual ranking dashboard.

🧩 Challenges we ran into

Our initial architecture explored Python, FastAPI, Whisper, and FFmpeg, but multimedia dependencies created portability and deployment challenges. Instead of depending on complex server infrastructure, we redesigned the MVP around browser-native media processing. That challenge ultimately strengthened ClipIQ by making the submitted workflow lighter, more private, and independent of external AI APIs.

🏆 Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're especially proud that ClipIQ isn't just an AI-themed interface. It works with real user-uploaded media and produces real actionable output. ✅ Browser-side media analysis
✅ Explainable scoring instead of black-box results
✅ Real timestamps and clip recommendations
✅ Client-side clip extraction
✅ Downloadable output
✅ No external AI API credentials
✅ Privacy-first architecture
✅ Premium creator-focused experience

🧠 What we learned

We learned that useful content intelligence doesn't always require sending entire videos to massive cloud models. Audio itself contains valuable signals about intensity, emphasis, pacing, and potentially interesting moments. Most importantly, we learned that explainability matters. ClipIQ doesn't just say:

"Use this clip." It helps creators understand: "Here's why this moment stood out."

🔮 What's next for ClipIQ

Our next-generation ClipIQ engine could combine the current signal analysis with: 🎙️ On-device speech transcription
🧠 Semantic hook detection
🎬 Scene-change intelligence
👥 Speaker detection
📱 Automatic 9:16 face-aware reframing
💬 Dynamic captions
📉 Retention-risk prediction
🎚️ Personalized ranking models

🌟 Our Vision

Turn hours of raw creator footage into minutes of ranked publishing opportunities — privately, transparently, and intelligently.
