Inspiration
Clinical trials are hard to find for patients and might seem like a chore to apply for. At the same time these trials desperately need people in order to iterate on life changing medicine.
What it does
Given deidentified patient data, our site matches patients with relevant clinical trials that match their conditions. It has a list based on location, along with relevance to what the patients are experiencing. If a match isn't perfect, we highlight what the medical professional should confirm with the patient to ensure they are getting the best possible experience.
How we built it
We used Grok for the text to speech and speech to text. To query clinical trials, we used an official government endpoint: "ClinicalTrials.gov". For the frontend we ended up using React.
Challenges we ran into
Integrating Grok for our TTS was pretty difficult. We didn't have any experience with their api so it was definitely a hard thing to get working in such a short timeline.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of the end to end product working properly, and us being able to verify the results with different locations across the United States.
What we learned
We learned more about the medical industry and what really goes in to fitting patients for medical trials. We also learned how to use the Grok API to convert text to speech and vice versa.
What's next for Clinical
We want to expand this to provide better results for patients, and provide even more relevant studies. We could partner more with studies so they could provide us with a better explanation of the study so we could better match patients to them.
