Overview
Clinic Link is a mobile-first prototype that helps community clinic visitors understand their place in a queue and what to expect while they wait. It offers distinct demo views for patients, clinic staff and pharmacists.
Clinic Link continues the ClinicConnect concept developed by Community Design Group 3. The earlier team research and design informed the problem framing; this hackathon entry presents a clickable demo build based on that work.
The problem
Clinic visitors may arrive without clear information about where to queue, their place in the process, or how long they may wait. This uncertainty can disrupt daily plans and make clinic visits harder to navigate.
How might we help clinic visitors understand where they are in the queue and what to expect while they wait?
An early questionnaire received five responses: all five mentioned long or slow waits, four mentioned unclear queue order or progress, and two mentioned waiting disrupting plans. This is a small early sample, not a representative community survey.
What you can try
- Select a demo profile for a patient, clinic staff member or pharmacist.
- View the patient’s department, queue position and estimated wait; refresh to see the simulated queue advance.
- Walk through appointment booking and review or cancel a demo appointment.
- Search fictional medication stock and see available, low-stock, unavailable or unconfirmed states.
- Explore role-specific staff pages and language/accessibility controls.
How it was built
The responsive web prototype uses React, TypeScript and browser-local demo state. The prototype does not connect to clinic systems: bookings, queue changes and stock information are simulated and stored in the browser. It is not medical advice; users should confirm availability and service details with clinic or pharmacy staff.
AI transparency
This version does not implement an AI model. We are presenting the working healthcare-access prototype without claiming AI functionality.

Supporting files
A one-page project summary and a PDF code snapshot are prepared as supporting materials. The code snapshot is a readable export of the demo source, not a GitHub repository.
