Inspiration

Outbreaks and infections are still being detected too late often only after hospitals are overwhelmed.
We realized that infection data remains trapped within hospitals, with no unified system that helps civic health authorities predict or prevent community outbreaks early.

That’s where our idea was born to build ClinGuard AI, a civic health intelligence platform that uses data and AI to turn hospital infection trends into early warning systems for cities.

What it does

ClinGuard AI is an AI-powered platform designed to help city health departments and hospitals collaborate in real time.
It collects infection data from hospitals and laboratories, analyzes it for abnormal patterns, and uses predictive models to forecast potential outbreak zones.

Key Capabilities:

  • 🧠 AI Risk Prediction Engine – Learns from hospital infection logs to forecast next possible outbreaks.
  • 🌍 Civic Health Dashboard – Displays live infection maps, heat zones, and trends across wards or districts.
  • 📢 Alert System – Sends early warnings to health officers about rising risks.
  • 📊 Insights & Analytics – Provides civic authorities with monthly infection insights for better policy planning.

How we built it

We designed the system architecture, data flow, and core AI logic concept.
We also created wireframes that show how ClinGuard AI’s dashboard and analytics module would look for city-level health use.

Our technical prototype is built with:

  • Frontend: React + TailwindCSS
  • Backend: Flask (Python)
  • Database: MongoDB
  • AI Layer: Random Forest for infection prediction
  • Visualization: Plotly + Leaflet for heatmap visualization

Challenges we ran into

  • Aggregating hospital infection data in a privacy-safe and standardized format.
  • Designing a system that works for both local hospitals and civic health departments.
  • Ensuring real-time updates and alert mechanisms that scale city-wide.

What’s next for ClinGuard AI – Civic Health Intelligence Platform

  • Integrate hospital APIs and real civic datasets for real-time infection monitoring.
  • Deploy a working AI prototype in the Hackathon track.
  • Collaborate with public health departments to test the system’s usability.
  • Expand ClinGuard AI into a nationwide civic health intelligence network that predicts and prevents future outbreaks.
