Clime: Emergency Digital Assistant

What it does

Clime is a digital assistant( Facebook Messenger Bot) that helps you during times of crisis and natural disasters. Find updates on the weather conditions, find ATMs, hospitals, and shelters near you, get helplines or even help.

How we built it

We used NodeJs(Express.Js) as our server to create a webhook for the messenger platform. It was then hosted on heroku.

Challenges we ran into

This was not the initial idea we went with. We started questioning the functionality of the original idea late into the day yesterday, and we start building this after that.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Learnt how to create and deployed a Messenger chatbot within a matter of few hours. Proud of our final result after pivoting.

What's next for Clime: Emergency Digital Assistant

I plan to turn Clime into an open source project and actually developing it to be extremely useful during an actual disaster. Plan to include wit.ai/Dialogflow soon in the future.
