I want to create a cross-platform app to match up rock climbers looking for climbing partners both indoors and outdoors. I'm starting by designing the app's infrastructure & building a webapp through Django. Then, I plan to implement the app in iOS and Android. The goal is to provide climbers with a service to search for others based on required or preferred specifications such as date/time for climbing, experience, available equipment (climbing gear/car/etc.). There will be an internal chat application to get users to talk. To quicker connect users, I will use the Facebook API to have users log in through Facebook and connect profiles. The app will use algorithms to match climbers. I truly think that the app will be really useful in the climbing community given the welcoming openness in the climbing community.
