ClimateClassAction is a website where you can find you're carbon footprint and calculate the amount of energy that you are using.

💡 Inspiration💡

As someone who is part of the Climate Action Team at my school, I have realized that there are effects of carbon emissions on the environment because they contribute to global warming, increased rates of natural disasters, poor air quality, etc. This inspired me to create a project to help further reducing of the carbon footprint and lowering energy bill costs to save energy.

I also used the imagiLabs app to make a pixelated logo for my website. The design of my website is intended to be a simple twig.

💨What it does💨

ClimateClassAction provides two services ! The primary service is a carbon calculator based off of real data on the different factors that influence a person's carbon footprint. The carbon footprint calculator calculates your carbon footprint based on a couple of questions that it asks you. The electricity calculator calculates the amount of electricity energy you use up and gives you possible solutions to it. The Resources page includes a list resources to get more information about the causes and learn more about them as well.

🔥How I built it🔥

I built ClimateClassAction using repl.it using the languages HTML, CSS, and javascript. I also used figma to create a sign in for my website and ImagiLabs for the logo.

😩Challenges I ran into😩

Because my logo was animated, I was having trouble putting it into my website as I have never created an animated logo for my website before.

🍃Accomplishments that I’m proud of🍃

I am used to working in groups for hackathons and not having to worry as much about managing time and being able to split work among other people while in this case I had to create everything from the logo to the entirety of the website. Overall, I am really proud of myself for creating a fully functioning project in one weekend. I think that ClimateClassAction is something that people could use to find their carbon footprint, electricity usage, and find more resources to learn about the effects of our carbon footprint and electricity usage.

🌱What I learned🌱

I realized that I could actually create a logo using ImagiLabs implementing python into my website and overall increasing my capabilities this Hackathon.

🌿What's next for ClimateClassAction🌿

In the future, I want to add more pages to my website addressing more climate causes such as global warming and possibly start a charity to invest more in this cause.
