Inspiration

As Kofi Annan said ‘We must challenge climate-change sceptics who deny the facts’ before the Climate-change process becomes irreversible.

What it does

It is quite an endeavour to seek statistics on climate data and often it appears to be too sophisticated and complex for the reader. So we created a website accessible to the general public so that they can see these metrics in a simplified way and with this help to reduce global skepticism.

How we built it

We've created a sustainable website with a minimalist design from scratch wherein, we have used free APIS from open source organizations and the World Bank database. To get the data, we parsed the JSON data and used JavaScript and jQuery to work through the arrays and converted this huge chunk of data into graphs and easily accessible search pages.

Challenges we ran into

Working with APIs and integrating backend with frontend was not an easy task as we thought of.

What we learned

There's more to the problem and a simple website will bring only a tiny bit of change to this global issue. We also learnt that people are not as much aware about Global Warming and Climate Change issues as we thought.

What's next for our project

We are striving to find more large databases and make it easily understandable for the rest of us. This is a huge journey are we are just getting started.
