Inspiration
The world is slowly spiraling into a horrible habit of ignorance about Global Warming and pollution. People always feel that the state of the world cannot be fixed by themselves, when really their habits and the ones that their friends acquire from them can make a large impact on the world.
What it does
It educates players on the various ways that they can help or hurt the environment in different situations that can happen in daily life. At the end it is revealed what character you would be like from the move Meet the Robinsons depending on your habits and their effect on the environment.
How we built it
Together we learned about how to use Javascript from various incredibly helpful and super intelligent mentors in order to create the game together. We all contributed by coming up with situations, coding, and providing emotional support to each other when time ran insanely low.
Challenges we ran into
Along the way, we struggled with our newly learned language but many mentors helped us figure out what we had done wrong and why our game wasn't working correctly. Creating an idea was very difficult as well, and keeping calm when the time began running out was also very challenging.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Accomplishing our game alone was very satisfying and seeing it work was a real treat. The fruition of our ambition was truly awe-inspiring and relieving. This is our first time creating a game with Javascript, CSS and HTML so we are really proud of our work!
What We learned
We learned how to use Javascript, CSS and HTML together to create our game. Also, we learned the process for making some games and all in all learned a lot more about web games.
What's next for Climate Crisis Simulator
We might add more questions and detail to our game. We're working on more visuals, because we were really preoccupied with getting it to work today. Hopefully we will be able to refine it further in the future.
