Inspiration
I get my motivation in part from time and urgency with regard to the way climate change affects people and countries. Thus, I empower such individuals through lessons and activities in avoiding or mitigating effects. He believes that equipping them with real-time climate data and education would trigger their minds to take realistic actions toward a sustainable future.
About
The Tool The Climate Change Tracking Website is a complete toolbox to empower its users, with the latest climate record, related impacts, and potential engagement in environmental sustainability. Among them, real-time sparklines for climate data visualization; Mind-enriching educational articles; Actionable tips to carry around with readers in reducing their carbon footprints.
How I made it
I built all the sites without a code with Wix and made a DIY, interactive, eye-capturing platform using the drag-and-drop interface plus the fully customizable template. I put a widget and embodied code to show real-time climate data and used massively multimedia for more impact use.
Challenges I Encountered
Hardest among the challenges was integrating real-time climate data into the website. The other main challenge was setting up a user-friendly interface of presentation for such complicated content.
Accomplishments I am proud of
I indeed feel that I have achieved in the same context: it's a platform that can disseminate awareness about climate change yet empower its users with the tools and knowledge to be useful. The real-time data integration and obtaining the positive feedback from initial users is something I am really proud of.
What I have learned
What I learned from this project is really that it requires strong communication channels and proper user engagement laced with raising the awareness and action in society. I had experiences in using no-code tools for website construction and integration with an outside data source. I think I have really increased my knowledge regarding climate change issues, as well as the multiple ways that individual contributions can be made toward sustainability.
What next for the Climate Change Tracking Website
I will be doing all that work, but along with this, I will add some more fun stuff to it-such as quizzes, polls, and forums-building an environment for eco-friendly people. I envision working with climate experts and organizations in the future for comprehensive resources and action-oriented synergies. And of course, improvement in the accuracy of the data as well as the performance of the site would still remain on the agenda toward achieving the sustainable legacy.
