Inspiration
Our inspiration for this project came from the growing concern surrounding climate change and its potential impacts on the real estate industry. We wanted to gain insights into public sentiment and the primary topics of discussion regarding this critical issue in the Reddit community.
What it does
Our project involved conducting sentiment analysis on Reddit comments and posts related to climate change and its impact on housing. We calculated monthly average sentiment scores and performed topic modeling to categorize the discussions. The project aimed to visualize the data and reveal trends in sentiment and key topics over time.
How we built it
To build this project, we collected and analyzed a climate change dataset of Reddit comments and posts spanning several years. We employed sentiment analysis tools and topic modeling techniques. The data was visualized using temporal charts and other means to provide a clear overview of sentiment and topic trends.
Challenges we ran into
Throughout the project, we encountered various challenges, including data collection and cleaning, choosing appropriate sentiment analysis and topic modeling algorithms, and effectively visualizing the results.
