Inspiration
We have seen on news reports and social media about the recent heatwaves across North America as well as the many extreme floods that have devastates many areas across the globe. We have also came across the 2021 and 2022 reports from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) about climate change. The reports predicted that with the current pattern of climate change, the sea levels will rise about 2 meters by 2100. Coastal cities such as Miami and Jakarta are less than 2 meters about sea level, so these cities are predicted to be completely underground by the year 2100. Many people have heard of climate change and global warming, but not enough people know about what climate change is really doing to the earth and the people.
What it does
This website gives a brief introduction to what climate change is, the causes and effects of climate change, and allows users to read articles and take quizzes relating to climate change.
How we built it
We built this website using HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We believe the cover on the home page is interactive and interesting for users to view.
What we learned
There are many many levels within climate change, but also in coding. Creating a website using HTML, CSS, and Javascript is pretty challenging. Many little details need to be written in order to obtain a certain desired outcome.
What's next for Climate Change in 2022 Website
We will continue to improve this website so the design is more aesthetic and easier for users to absorb information.
