Inspiration
Our inspiration stems from the urgent need to address food security and sustainability in urban environments amidst the challenges posed by climate change. We were inspired by the potential of vertical aeroponic tower farming to revolutionize urban agriculture and contribute to mitigating the impacts of climate change.
What it does
Vertical aeroponic tower farming offers a sustainable solution for food production in urban areas. It efficiently utilizes space and resources to grow a variety of crops in a controlled environment without soil, minimizing water usage and maximizing crop yield. This innovative farming method integrates aeroponics with vertical farming, creating a harmonious ecosystem that fosters sustainable urban agriculture.
How we built it
We developed our project by researching and understanding the principles of aeroponics and vertical farming. We designed and built prototype vertical aeroponic towers, incorporating elements such as nutrient delivery systems, misting mechanisms, and monitoring sensors. Our team collaborated to optimize the design for efficiency and scalability, utilizing sustainable materials and technologies wherever possible.
Challenges we ran into
Throughout the development process, we encountered challenges such as optimizing nutrient delivery systems, ensuring uniform misting across vertical towers, and integrating monitoring sensors for real-time data collection.
